Empty Faces

“Empty Faces” is the kind of silhouette that turns heads. I think it’s gorgeous. See it large at deviantART.

S I M U L A C R U M

This one’s called “S I M U L A C R U M” — and it has to be one the funniest street photography grabs I’ve seen in a while. The photographer, Lukasz Kazimierz (burningmonk at deviantArt), noted that he had no idea what the guy was doing in the picture. To make it funnier, another of my absolute favorite street photographers, Baris Ozturk, left a comment that the same guy had shown up in several of his images from a recent trip to Japan.

An Early Morning Walk

Waited for a bus to fly by so I could get the market sign behind me. It worked and I liked it, so I’m calling this one Market Mirror. At least, that’s what the filename is. Full size available here.

A Wild Swarm of Pidgies

Somebody dumped a bag of seed along the sidewalk, and the Swarm descended. Full size available here.

Girl Walking Dog

Nothing mystical, just a girl walking her dog. Full size available here.

Terrifying

Pike Place Market at about 6:45 in the morning is dark, empty, and calm — in stark contrast to the way the place runs for most of the daytime hours. On my walk through this morning, I was able to stroll right up to the famous fish-throwers in the corner, but what I saw there was truly terrifying. They were massing a small army of angry looking crustaceans. Full size available here.

Pike Crossing

Corner of Pike and 1st, facing East. Full size available here.

An Ode to Backpack Suit Guy

Mr. Backpack Suit Guy, who walks without moving his arms, who stares blankly ahead while listening to music on his over-ear headphones, who prefers a generic slate grey to more adventurous colors: Your haircut is vanilla, but your backpack is ill, because it has a hot pink sport-stripe. Keep on walking, Mr. Backpack Suit Guy. Full size available here.

Sarah

Sarah is a girl who likes chewing gum. She has plenty of money lying around from illegally-operated lemonade stands, with a healthy bonus gained by stashing half her allowance every week for a year — so she has no problem funding her lust for more gum. Her favorite word is her own name. She probably wanted to stay in Seattle when her parents said it was time to go back home, to Salt Lake City. Full size available here.

Waiting

We happened across this lonely little guy as he waited patiently for his master to finish shopping. Full resolution here.

Urban Decay

I don’t know how old my apartment building is here in Seattle. I honestly don’t care, as long as it isn’t new. This chunk of cement is part of the wall that holds the little flowerbed shown in the previous post (see what pretty little flowers can do?). Full size here.

Lusty Lady

Shot by Kristin on 400 ISO lomo film with the F3. It’ll be sad to see that marquee go when they close the place.
